Graceful world map in two hemispheres, an uncommon and early one from geographer de Mornas and publisher Desnos, dated in the cartouche. The hemispheres and flanking text relating to astronomical observations are surrounded by an ornate border, separately printed from the map. Probably from the "Atlas Methodique et Elementaire de Geographie." Desnos was at one time Geographer to the King of Denmark. Excellent condition, wide margins.
